A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when she rolled her vehicle west of Kalispell.

According to Jerril Ren of the Montana Highway Patrol, the woman was westbound on U.S. 2 at about 3 p.m. roughly seven miles west of Kalispell when she drove off the right side of the road.

She then overcorrected and put her sport utility vehicle into a side slide, which caused it to roll off the opposite side of the road.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle while it was rolling and ended up pinned underneath it in a ditch.

“Witnesses attempted CPR but were unsuccessful,” Ren said.

He said it was unclear whether or not the woman, whose driver’s license listed a Thompson Falls address, was alive at the time emergency responders arrived from the Smith Valley Fire Department.

“I heard that she had a pulse, but I’m not positive,” Ren said.

The woman was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol. Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies also responded to the accident.
