Members of the Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho's Improv Team recently won the top prize in a local improvisation competition against teams from four high schools. CYT-North Idaho's team was made up of students in the nonprofit children's theater organization's after-school theater arts training classes.
The competition, named ImprovOff!, was put on by Chill Bucket Productions, and was their first venture into Improvisational competition. Chill Bucket has put on CYT-North Idaho's "Play in a Day" for local kids during Christmas break for the last 4 years.
The members of the improvisation team are now trying to raise $4,000, the cost to travel to Santa Cruz, Calif., to compete in CYT's national competition, Improvathon. The youths hosted a "pie auction" during a CYT event last week.
They will hold a car wash Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hippo Car Wash, 510 W. Bosanko Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
