Downtown Cd'A revving up for Car d'Lane

COEUR d'ALENE - Car lovers, mark your schedules.

Car d'Lane revs up this weekend, so anyone planning to check out the cruise Friday - or swing by the show Saturday when the car hoods go up - should take note of dates and times below.

As planned, downtown street improvements on Sherman Avenue and Third Street will be wrapped up this week, so the show is scheduled to roar as usual.

Admission for spectators of "Cruisin' by the Lake," is free, and for those still wanting to enter their rigs, there's time.

The cost to enter a vehicle is $30 for a for both Friday and Saturday, or $25 for a pass to the show on Saturday only; or $10 for a pass for the cruise on Friday only. Both the cruise and show are for cars and trucks 1975 or Pre '75 only.

What's on tap Friday:

* Registration: From 9 a.m. through the start of the Cruise at 6 p.m. at the tent at the southwest corner of the parking lot at Peterson Family Foods, 1211 Sherman Ave.

* Swap Meet: At the green space at Sixth Street and Sherman Avenue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

* Garage Tour: Car enthusiasts can tour a couple local garages during the afternoon. Maps and information will be available at the registration tent on Friday.

* Car d'Lane Cruise: The Wenatchee Valley Cruisers, as the honored club, will lead out the cruise which runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Contests for "Best Pipes" and "Best Flames" will be held in the vicinity of Fifth Street and Sherman Avenue.

Saturday's lineup:

* Show and Shine: The Car d'Lane Show this year will be staged completely on Sherman Avenue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Classics parked from the intersection of Northwest Boulevard and Lakeside Avenue, all the way down Sherman to Eight Street.

* Pin-Striping demonstrations: Done by Hall of Fame artist Von Dago at the corner of Sixth Street and Sherman Avenue.

* Poker Walk: Great cash prizes. Purchase your sheets at registration on Friday or at the T-shirt booth on Saturday, 316 Sherman Ave.

* Awards: Announced at 4 p.m. at Fifth Street and Sherman Avenue.

Man sought on stolen property charge

The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking information leading to the apprehension of Ethan Lewis Burrow.

Burrow is being sought based on multiple Kootenai County felony warrants charging him with two counts of felony grand theft and possession of stolen property. These are $40,000 bond warrants with U.S. extradition.

Burrow, 21, is a 5-foot-9, 195-pound white male with green eyes and brown hair. He was last known to be living in Coeur d'Alene.

The task force works to locate and apprehend violent fugitives.

Anyone with information regarding this subject or other fugitives being sought for violent crimes should call the task force at (208) 665-4455. The identity of callers will remain confidential and reward money is available.
