DESERT AIRE - The public is invited to Desert Aire Airport's Fly-in and Breakfast at the airport on June 15.

The Fly-in and Breakfast make up the airport's biggest fund-raiser each year. Funds generated are used to support airport operations.

"Come join your friends for a great breakfast on Father's Day weekend," Airport Manager David Strand said.

The breakfast will go from 7 to 11 a.m. and will include pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice, and coffee. It will be served in the middle hangar, near the Sagebrush Senior Center, located at 121 Desert Aire Place.

In addition to a good old country breakfast, diners will enjoy fly-ins by various types of aircraft. Expected to make an appearance is the Medivac Helicopter Group from Yakima Training Center with a UH-72.

Also expected is the Pendleton National Guard Dust Devils CHF 47 Chinook troop carrier. It has seen action in Afghanistan. The PC-12 Pilatus Medstar airplane out of Richland is scheduled.

"We expect several antique planes, and there may be an A-26 Invader from World War II," Strand said.

One antique that will appear for sure is an old Air Force T-34 owned by Bruce Eskildsen of Desert Aire.

A minimum donation of $5 is requested for the breakfast. All donations are used to maintain runways, taxiways and apron areas.
