Legion baseball: Mariners fall short vs. Bruins

DILLON — The Bitterroot Bruins scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to edge the Mission Valley Mariners 6-5 on Friday at the Maybelle Arthur American Legion baseball tournament.

Mission Valley jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings and lead 5-2 after three. The Bruins tied it at 5-all with three runs in the fifth.

Bradley Pichler had a perfect day at the plate for the Mariners, going 3 for 3, clubbing a home run and driving in one run. Zeke Webster-Yaqui tripled for the Mariners.

Justin Horvath homered for Bitterroot.

Jeremiah Crawford went the distance on the mound for Mission Valley. He allowed four hits, struck out nine and walked three.

Tournament action continues today.
