Motorcycle-car collision injures man

MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was injured the morning of June 6 during a car-motorcycle collision near Moses Lake. ?

According to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones, Manuel Vela, 50, was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle northbound on Stratford Road around 7:20 a.m. A 2002 Suzuki Aero, driven by Cecilia Morris, 21 of Moses Lake, was westbound on Road 7 NE at the stop sign.

Morris turned into Vela’s path, and the two vehicles collided in the northbound lane. ?

Vela was thrown from the motorcycle, landing in the southbound lane of Stratford Road. He suffered a dislocated shoulder and broken leg, and was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. ??

Morris was uninjured.
