Former Coeur d’Alene Mayor Ray Stone, 89, died this morning at Hospice House.

Born Sept. 2, 1923, Stone was elected in November 1985 and served eight years as mayor. He also led a jazz band.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 521 Lakeside Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Yates Funeral Homes, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St.
