New MACC director named

GRANT COUNTY - The Board of Directors for the Multi-Agency Communications Center (MACC) named a new director.

The board hired Jackie Jones as the new agency director at its last board meeting. MAC serves 911 and all the public safety agencies in Grant County.

Jones has served as the operations manager for RiverCom 911 since 2007, which serves both Chelan and Douglas counties. Jones will begin her new position with MACC on July 17.

Jones lives in Quincy and began her career in public safety communications in 1994 as a dispatcher and records clerk for the Ephrata Police Department. She previously worked for MACC from 1997 to 2000 before heading to the Wenatchee Police Department until 2004. MACC received 17 other applicants for the open director position, with the top candidates interviewed by a selected group of board members, user agencies, community members and partner agencies.

Millie Tirapelle, who retired as director at RiverCom last year, was serving as interim director for MACC, taking over for former director Mary Allen, who left in March.

MACC has dispatched calls in Grant County since 1995 and is run by a seven-member board of directors, including representatives from Grant County cities and towns, police and fire officials, county commissioners and medical services.
