C-Falls swimmers take second

The Columbia Falls Swim Team took second place at the Plains Invitational last week.

Several swimmers had first-place finishes for the second week in a row, including Cooper Babcock, 50 backstroke; Henry Chisholm, 100 breast stroke; Zayne Friar, 50 and 100 butterfly; Noah Golan, 100 intermediate medley; Tyler Langton, 50 and 100 freestyle and 50 butterfly; Jessica Loyda, 100 breast stroke; Bubba Loyda, 50 freestyle, backstroke and butterfly; and James Role, 50 breast stroke.

Hayden Pierce and Henry Chisholm were named team captains.

Times on events were not available. The swim team will host its home meet this Saturday and Sunday at the Pinewood Park pool.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
