Legion baseball: Libby in Big Bucks tournament championship game

LIBBY — Libby’s Loggers will face Moscow’s Blue Devils today in the championship game of the Big Bucks American Legion baseball tournament at 5:30 p.m.
Libby, 20-12 overall, advanced with a Saturday 2-0 victory over Lewiston’s Cubs while Moscow beat the Mission Valley Mariners 13-7. Libby is 3-0 in tournament play.
Jared Winslow turned in another stellar performance on the mound for the Loggers. He struck out 15 batters and held Lewiston to two singles.
He fanned two batters in the first, third, fourth and seventh innings, struck out three in the second and sixth and one in the fifth.
Winslow and Micah Germany had RBI singles.
Also Saturday, it was Kootenai Valley 7, Lewiston 6; Strathmore 4, Rainier 3; and Kootenai Valley 11, Tri-County 6.
Today at 10 a.m. it’s Tri-County vs. Rainier for seventh/eighth place, followed by Lewiston versus Strathmore at 12:30 p.m. for fifth/sixth and Mission Valley versus Kootenai Valley at 3 p.m. for third/fourth.

LIBBY — Jared Paul homered twice, drove in six runs and pitched seven innings in relief to pick up the victory and carry the Moscow Blue Devils to a win over the Mission Valley Mariners.
Paul replaced starting pitcher T.J. Lewis in the first inning. He struck out nine, walked two and allowed five hits.
At the plate, he was 3 for 4.
Pat O’Sullivan, 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs, also homered for the Blue Devils.
Mission Valley led 4-1 after the first inning, by Moscow scored six times in the third and came back with two more runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to pull away.
Jeremiah Crawford, 2 for 4 and 3 RBIs, doubled and homered for Mission Valley.
Ryan Pablo and Zeke Webster-Yaqui also had two hits each for the Mariners. Webster-Yaqui doubled once.
