Pine tree catches fire at Lawrence Park

The Kalispell Fire Department was called out to Lawrence Park Friday afternoon for a pine tree in flames. Flames were reported about eight to 10 feet off the ground. The small blaze was put out within a half hour of being reported.
Kalispell Police Department officers nabbed a drunk driver after the man and a woman were seen stumbling and bickering, acting drunk before leaving a North Main Street property in a pickup truck.
A peeved pedestrian complained about people yelling Bible verses at the intersection of South Main Street and East Center Street while attempting to give her books. The pedestrian reported that they yelled the verses at her while she was walking home. She was advised by an officer that the people had every right to be there.
A pair of young boys seen multiple times taking cigarette butts from the ashtrays sitting in front of a U.S. 93 South store told an adult they had been collecting them for their mother, who was paying them $2. An officer later reported the mother and grandmother were “more than capable” of taking care of the issue.
A drunk, toothless man was reported standing in the middle of 10th Avenue West asking people to run him over. After speaking with an officer, he agreed to stop yelling at cars.
Several youths with an explosive sense of humor were seen throwing firecrackers toward cars on Fifth Avenue West.
A Fifth Avenue East man suspected his adult daughter after finding several pieces of lunch meat placed all over his vehicle.
A Wisconsin Avenue man with a concern for his neighbors’ children — ages approximately 1 and 6 years old — contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report his neighbors were always sitting on their porch, possibly smoking marijuana. A second call came in just a few hours later from the same location, when a man complained his neighbors were having a party and might be doing drugs.
A bunch of loud and crazy teenagers drew a complaint from a Waverly Place resident who said they were running around, slamming doors and yelling outside of the apartments.
An under-enthused Underdahl Lane resident contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department to complain about people shooting near the water tank at the Columbia Falls Reservoir.
A pair of wild women were reported for swearing at and arguing with front office personnel at a U.S. 2 East property after they were kicked out.
