The long remodel of the former Icon Credit Union building at 1839 N. Government Way is complete. The new Embellish Salon and Spa will celebrate its grand opening Saturday with discounted services, a facility tour, models mingling with special-occasion hair and makeup, demonstrations, refreshments, product giveaways and a raffle.
The full-service salon offers custom hair design and pedicures in semi-private stations, massage, skin services, spray tanning, a make-up studio, bridal services and packages, spa parties and several retail products.
Owners are Tom (the building contractor) and Gina Sampson (a business background). They came to North Idaho 15 years ago with three daughters, including Embellish managers Ashley and Brittney. The business has 12 employees and has spaces for 10 hairstylists and nail technicians.

Honey Guy's opens in Athol
Honey products, hives, related items, gifts and produce are available at The Honey Guy's Produce Place at 30625 N. Highway 95 (next to the White Pines Cafe) in Athol.
Owners Tom Nafe and Marjorie Rosewell describe the honey as "local, raw, cold-pressed and unpasturized" and specially bottled for personal events by Monica Nafe, who also attends the hives. They also have the Looney Bean Coffee Shack and are mainstays in the White Wolf Garden Center and the White Pine Swap Meet, all next door.
Opening at the end of May, hours are usually 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Phone 290-4978 or 683-3304.
Bridgewater Chiropractic in Post Falls
Multiple chiropractic and soft-tissue techniques are offered at Bridgewater Chiropractic & Soft Tissue Center, which opened June 6 at 640 N. Thornton St., Post Falls.
Owner Jedediah Badders explained, "Soft tissue Specific Release Technique for fascia or connective tissue provides relief that chiropractic care alone is unable to resolve."
Originally from Arkansas and an eight-year Air Force veteran, Badders graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and practiced in Meridian, Idaho.
Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30-5:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8:30-12:30 Fridays. The first visit is free with insurance restrictions. Phone 262-8166.
