MOSES LAKE - While the McKean Law Office has been established in Moses Lake for about 30 years, they are expanding their legal services with the addition of a second attorney.

John "Luke" McKean began practicing law in Moses Lake in 1983. His son, Collin McKean, recently joined the practice.

Collin McKean said having two attorneys in the office is a benefit to Basin residents. Not only can the office take on more cases, but they can take on a wider variety of cases too, he said.

McKean said the office is increasing its services in the areas of family law, business law and personal injury cases.

McKean has been practicing law since 2006. He said his specialty is family law.

"With my involvement, we are able to take on complex family law cases," he said.

McKean said he has experience with high-asset divorce cases, and cases involving business interests.

He has also represented clients in personal injury, real estate, bankruptcy and worker's compensation cases, he said.

McKean said his dad has years of experience taking cases to trial.

"It's beneficial to have someone represent you who has extensive experience with trial litigation," said McKean.

McKean said his father also has experience with wrongful death and criminal cases, in addition to personal injury, worker's compensation and Social Security disability cases.

Together, the two are able to provide Basin residents with a range of general practice services, said McKean.

"We're a full-service firm," he said.

McKean said the law office also employs Ed Hall as a paralegal and recently hired his brother, John Thomas McKean, as a legal assistant.

He said he enjoys practicing in Moses Lake.

"I grew up here, so I enjoy the many personal and professional relationships I have here," said McKean. "It's great to work with my family in such a great community."

McKean said the law office provides free consultations for certain types of cases.
