WWII plane tours canceled
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 7 months AGO
Tom Lewis of the nonprofit Coeur d'Alene Airport Association has told the Press that the World War II planes slated to arrive on Monday won't arrive this afternoon either due to clouds on the western side of Washington in the Seattle area.
The planes were slated to be a part of the Wings of Freedom Tour and available for public viewing Monday through Wednesday. Lewis said if the planes arrive on Wednesday, they will only be available to those who scheduled flights. The planes would only be in Coeur d'Alene for about an hour or so before having to depart to Colorado for the next show.
Activities and speakers at the airport are resuming as normal this afternoon until around 6 p.m., Lewis said. The free event includes music, vendors and videos of vintage airplanes.
