Beading, jewelry classes at trading post

An Evergreen trading post will offer beading and metalsmithing classes this summer.

Lynda Newell will offer breading classes at Powder Horn Trading Co.

Following are the classes she will teach:

Tile Wave Bracelet

July 10

Use tile beads and crystals along with seed beads to create this class.

River Walk Bracelet

July 24

Use tile beads and twin beads to create this easy-to-make bracelet. Many color combinations can be used.

Rhinestone Cup Chain Bracelet

Aug. 7

Small bugle beads, tiles and seed beads accent this sparkly bracelet.

A nationally known artist will teach three classes at Powder Horn Trading Co. in July.

Anne Mitchell has taught many sellout classes at national bead and button shows and has won awards for excellence. She will be at Powder Horn Trading Co. July 20 through 22.

Class size is limited to a maximum of 10 people. Sign up early to reserve a space.

Following are the classes Mitchell will teach:

Layered and Riveted Quartz Pendant

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 20

Class: $90; kit fee: $115

Learn to make this exquisite setting for semi-precious gemstones. Hone your techniques to make this pressure setting and learn Mitchell’s approach to tube riveting. Then finish off the pendant with a unique and creative ball.

Elegant PMC and Fine Silver Necklace

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 21

Class: $90; kit fee: $115 plus one 16-gram package of precious metal clay

Create your own version of a necklace by Mitchell. Choose textures and create your own precious metal clay links for firing; prepare fine silver rings for assembly and fusing. The final portion of the class is an exploration of texturing, patina and polishing techniques.

Hammered and Forged Track Bracelet

5:30 to 10 p.m. July 22

Class: $60; kit fee: $68

The entire project is created with round wire. Forge and texture  segments; fuse double- and single-loop chains to create a fun and flexible bracelet.
