When "Opera on the Lake" sets sail on July 14, guests will be treated to opera arias, duets and a "Rigoletto" preview.

The event is Opera Coeur d'Alene's annual evening cruise, and general seating is still available.

Tickets are $45 and advance purchases are strongly recommended for the popular event. Ticket sales are online, operacda.com, or by phone, (800) 418-1485 ext. 1.

Featured singers will include New York Metropolitan veteran and Opera Coeur d'Alene general director Aaron Nicholson, baritone; along with Ginio Luchetti, tenor; Ann Benson, mezzo; and Courtney Ruckman, Soprano.

Nicholson, now a resident of Coeur d'Alene, has sung leading roles in the largest opera houses throughout the United States and Canada. Luchetti, renowned among opera fans throughout Washington, was a hit on the cruise last year, walking among the crowd and singing popular operatic songs such as "O Solo Mio" and "Funiculi Funicula." Benson has performed with Spokane Opera, CenterStage, Spokane Civic Theatre, Lake City Playhouse and Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre. Courtney Ruckman is this year's winner of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony's international Young Artist Competition and has been featured in Opera Coeur d'Alene's "Toy Shop" touring school program.

Other events in this Opera Coeur d'Alene season include "Opera on the Point," July 25, a dinner event at Elk Point, overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene. Tickets are $110 per person.

There will be free concerts in the Coeur d'Alene Plaza, July 12 and Sept. 6 as well as a concert at Art on The Green. The year will be capped with a fully staged performance of "Rigoletto," Sept. 13 and 15, featuring among the cast, internationally acclaimed Metropolitan artists Mark Walters, Raul Melo and Dawn Wolski.
