Timberlake ousted from 3A tourney

MERIDIAN - Kade Crossland and Kasey Crossland scored 23 points each for the Buhl Indians, who eliminated the Timberlake Tigers 76-69 in a loser-out game at the state 3A tournament on Friday at Meridian High.
Timberlake, which advanced to its first state boys basketball tournament since the school opened in 1998, finishes the season 18-5.
Timberlake led 16-14 after the first quarter, but the Tigers found themselves trailing by nine points at halftime after shooting 9 of 29 from the field in the first half.
Austin Allen scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 5 of 11 from beyond the 3-point line for Timberlake, which forced 15 turnovers. Trevor Masterson added 14 points, Johnny Hayden 13 and Keegan Scott 10 points for Timberlake.
Buhl (15-11) will face Sugar-Salem (23-4) in the consolation championship game today at Meridian High.

CALDWELL — Jake Pfeiffer had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who lost a loser-out game to the Chiefs in the state 1A Division II tournament at Caldwell High.
Sho-Ban led 21-7 after the first quarter and outscored Kootenai 14-1 at the free-throw line.
Ben Whipple scored 13 points for Kootenai (8-12), which outrebounded Sho-Ban 38-33.
Aaron Roy scored 17 points for Sho-Ban (17-4), which faces Dietrich (22-3) in the consolation championship game today.
