Paint-chip chewer out to beat breath test

Kalispell Police arrested a woman for drunk driving Saturday evening after getting reports that she was driving on sidewalks near downtown. After getting stopped by an officer, the woman was reportedly eating paint chips to try and beat a breathalyzer test.

A house on Phoenix Street was egged.

A mail carrier reportedly left a bank of postal boxes wide open on Northridge Drive. A caller reported about 10 to 20 unlocked boxes with mail in them left open for anyone to grab.

No one was injured in a three-vehicle crash on West Idaho Street.

Several kids skateboarding and jumping up on tables and wrecking things in Lawrence Park were advised of the rules.

A woman reported seeing three young boys pointing fake guns at vehicles on First Avenue East. She said she thought it was dangerous that they were pointing them at vehicles and that it freaked her own little boy out. Officers could not locate the boys.

A purse was stolen from a Jeep Cherokee.

Items were stolen from a vehicle on Fifth Avenue West North.

Someone found a wallet containing cash and credit cards on Seventh Avenue West.

Early Sunday morning, an employee at a business on East Idaho Street told police that someone walked out on a $35 meal.

A woman taken to the hospital with a cut on her hand was later arrested for criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and trespass.

The driver of a maroon Oldsmobile reportedly hit a mailbox on Northridge Drive and drove off.

A mailbox on Conrad Drive was hit with Silly String. The caller first thought it was spray paint.

Saturday, a man visited the Columbia Falls Police Department to drop off a muddy blouse and jeans he found by the river with no female in them.

A car was stolen from a home on Sixth Street West.

Someone on Ninth Street West told police he found a friend’s cell phone and is aware that she and her ex-husband are dealing Oxycontin.

A driver on U.S. 93 told Whitefish Police on Saturday that a kid in a red pickup behind him was shining a green laser light at his vehicle.

Someone vandalized a bench on Central Avenue.

A sewer lift station alarm was going off on Lacy Lane.

A Spokane Avenue woman said someone busted out her car’s window and stole a bank bag with no money in it. The thief tried to break into another car but couldn’t break its window, the woman said.
