Sabres remain hot behind Pominville

Jason Pominville scored twice in regulation and added a shootout goal, and the Buffalo Sabres extended their winning streak to three games by beating the visiting New Jersey Devils 4-3 on Saturday.

Tyler Ennis also scored in the shootout while Ryan Miller stopped both shootout attempts after making 28 saves in regulation.

Cody Hodgson had two assists and Jochen Hecht also scored for Buffalo, which improved to 3-2-0 since Ron Rolston took over as interim coach after Lindy Ruff was fired.

The three-game win streak is Buffalo's longest since the team won five straight from March 19-27 last season.

Adam Henrique, Steve Bernier and Andrei Loktionov scored for the Devils. New Jersey is 1-4-2 in its past seven.

Pominville opened the shootout by beating Johan Hedberg with a snap shot on the glove side. After Ilya Kovlachuk failed to score on the Devils' first attempt, Ennis scored.

Flyers 2, Senators 1: Jakub Voracek and Wayne Simmonds both scored and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 33 shots to help Philadelphia beat visiting Ottawa.

Bruins 3, Lightning 2: Brad Marchand scored a tiebreaking goal on the power play with 2:16 left in the third period, completing Boston's comeback from a 2-0 deficit with a victory over visiting Tampa Bay that extended the Bruins' winning streak to six straight.

Capitals 3, Jets 0: Braden Holtby stopped 35 shots and Mike Ribeiro had a goal and an assist and Washington won at Winnipeg.

Hurricanes 6, Panthers 2: At Raleigh, N.C., Jussi Jokinen scored twice and added an assist, and Riley Nash netted his first goal as part of a three-point night in Carolina's win over Florida.

Sharks 2, Predators 1: Dan Boyle and Joe Pavelski got San Jose's struggling power-play unit going with goals that helped the Sharks beat visiting Nashville.

Canucks 5, Kings 2: Daniel Sedin and Jannik Hansen scored 2:44 apart late in the second period to lead Vancouver past visiting Los Angeles.

Penguins 7, Canadiens 6, OT: Brandon Sutter's second goal of the game 52 seconds into overtime lifted Pittsburgh at Montreal.

Coyotes 5, Ducks 4, SO: At Glendale, Ariz., Steve Sullivan scored the tying goal with 6:28 remaining in regulation and then netted the lone goal in the shootout to lift Phoenix past Anaheim.
