Chicago extended its NHL-record, season-opening points streak to 22 games Sunday when Patrick Kane scored the tying goal on a power play with 2:02 left in regulation and had the only goal in a shootout, lifting Chicago to a 2-1 win over the host Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.
Canadiens 4, Bruins 3: David Desharnais scored the winner with his second goal of the game, lifting Montreal at Boston.
Rangers 3, Sabres 2, SO: Rick Nash had a goal and assist and also scored in the shootout to lead host New York over Buffalo.
Wild 4, Oilers 2: At Minneapolis, Mikko Koivu scored 9 seconds into the third period to lead Minnesota over Edmonton.
Flames 4, Canucks 2: Jarome Iginla's third period goal led host Calgary over Vancouver.
Blue Jackets 2, Avalanche 1, OT: At Columbus, Ohio, Sergei Bobrovsky made 18 saves to lead Columbus over Colorado.
Hurricanes 3, Panthers 2: At Sunrise, Fla., Jordan Staal, Alexander Semin and Justin Faulk scored in Carolina's win over Florida.
Stars 4, Blues 1: Kari Lehtonen made 25 saves to help lead host Dallas over St. Louis.
Islanders 3, Senators 2, SO: At Uniondale, N.Y., John Tavares and Frans Nielsen scored in the shootout, lifting New York over Ottawa.
