COUNCIL: Live on TV: arrogance
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 10 months AGO
While watching the Coeur d’Alene City Council meeting Tuesday night on TV I was absolutely amazed at the unbridled arrogance of the Mayor and council members Mike Kennedy and Deanna Goodlander and city attorney Mike Gridley.
Where in the world do they think they have the authority to exclude and prevent a fellow duly elected council member from doing his job by just passing a motion because he disagrees with them? Well this is exactly what happened Tuesday night. Councilman Kennedy interrupted Councilman Steve Adams in mid-sentence to make what has to be an illegal motion to exclude Councilman Adams from being present during any talks or meetings concerning the sewer situation simply because Councilman Adams believes the citizens of Cd’A should have a say. Then the Mayor continued the interruption and insult by accepting the motion so fast I thought she was going to hurt herself.
I had hoped the “I don’t care what the citizens want or need” attitude of the gang of four would change after the recall effort but all it did was inflate their already humongous egos. By the way did anyone notice that the amount spent Tuesday night on McEuen would cover the first year of the school levy?
