MILESTONE BIRTHDAY
Norm L. Randall
90th Birthday
Norm was born March 9, 1923, in Prairie, Wash. After school, he was employed by the U.S. Naval Air Station at Whidbey Island, Wash., as an engineering draftsman.
In 1945 he married the love of his life, Patricia. Married 68 years, they reside together in their Coeur d'Alene home. In 1949 Norm and his young family moved to Pullman, Wash., where he worked in construction management for Washington State University. During those years he built his family home and according to Norm, raised three wonderful daughters!
For 12 years he bowled on WSU's staff and faculty league and served 15 years as a volunteer fireman for the city of Pullman, achieving rank as company captain before leaving the department.
He retired in North Idaho to pursue his lifelong hobbies of hunting, fishing and camping. For many years he has enjoyed the beautiful rivers and wilderness here. Norm's family has expanded to include two sons-in-law who he has coached on fly fishing and tying flies. He has seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren in which he thoroughly delights.
Asked how he feels about turning 90 he replies: "I'm slowing down a bit. I can't do what I used to do!" His words of advice: "Do as many things as you can while you're young!" From all your family, "Happy 90 years young Papa! We love you and feel so blessed to have you in our lives!"
A private family celebration will be held this summer.
