LOS ANGELES - Kelly Olynyk, Gonzaga's 7-foot redshirt junior center, was one of 15 players named Saturday as finalists for the John R. Wooden Award.

Olynyk was one of three players named to the ballot that did not make the midseason Top 25. The others were Victor Oladipo of Indiana and Shane Larkin of Miami.

Creighton forward Doug McDermott is the only player on this year's ballot who was a Wooden Award All American in 2012.

The other finalists are freshman forward Anthony Bennett of UNLV; sophomore guard Trey Burke of Michigan; senior guard Erick Green of Virginia Tech; freshman guard Ben McLemore of Kansas; senior forward Mason Plumlee of Duke; sophomore forward Otto Porter of Georgetown; freshman guard Marcus Smart of Oklahoma State; junior forward Deshaun Thomas of Ohio State; senior center Jeff Withey of Kansas; senior guard Nate Wolters of South Dakota State; and sophomore forward Cody Zeller of Indiana.

The Wooden Award All American Team, consisting of the nation's top 10 players, will be announced the week of the Elite Eight round of the NCAA tournament. The Wooden Award winner will be announced on ESPN during the Final Four weekend in Atlanta.
