Canned tuna sold in the Flathead area between Jan. 17 and March 6 has been recalled due to seal tightness issues according to the Flathead City-County Health Department.

The Flathead City-County Health Department advises all consumers check the lot number of their Bumble Bee, Chicken of the Sea, and Brunswick brand tuna.

The FDA recommends throwing away any of these products purchased during this time period.

Bumble Bee Foods, LLC, is expanding a voluntary recall on specific codes of 5-ounce Chunk White Albacore and Chunk Light Tuna products.

The recall has been issued because the products do not meet the company's standards for seal tightness. There have been no reports to date of any illness associated with these products.

Registered Sanitarians from the Flathead City-County Health Department have contacted all of the local retailers to have them pull the implicated products from their shelves.

For more information and updates on recalled products, go to http://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls/default.htm.
