A Coeur d'Alene man told police that someone stole nearly $8,000 worth of goods from his home.

The victim reported Friday his house on Weathers Lane was burglarized while he was away that day.

Missing items including three rifles, a shotgun and two handguns, along with 1,200 rounds of ammunition, as well as an array of outdoor gear, gold coins, and even two bottles of liquor.

According to a police report, there was no sign of forced entry into the home.

"Nothing in the residence was disheveled indicating the suspect knew where items were located," the report said.

The resident said he left his home around 5 a.m., and returned around 4:30 p.m.

"He found a shaving razor in the middle of his living room floor, which he did not place there," the report said.

The victim told police he had been speaking with a female over the Internet prior to the theft. He said he recently received a phone call from what he considered a strange phone number because the female told him she was from Louisiana.

An investigation continues.
