PLAINS – The March meeting for the Plains Town Council commenced March 4, where council members voted on and passed the water bond upgrade and also addressed town property and storage use.

The town council voted to send a letter to the Plains Piranhas Swim Team informing them they had 60 days to vacate the use of the pool park shed or gazebo of their team equipment, or the town would charge a rent fee of $200 a month. The swim team currently stores their starting blocks, flags, and other pool-specific equipment in the shed.

The town council also voted on and passed the town water rates bond resolution; ensuring the water system of the town will soon be upgraded for better use and quality. The resolution is 50 pages long. Sandy Chenoweth motioned for the resolution to be passed, and Carl Reeb seconded the motion.

One individual made a statement during the public comment period of the meeting, Dane Daniels of Plains.

“I was at the special water meeting [on Feb. 19],” Daniels said. “I just wanted to say that I think the entire council is doing a wonderful job in helping our town re-vamp its water system. That’s all I needed to say.”

The council thanked Daniels for his comment, then soon adjourned the meeting.

The next meeting will take place on the first Monday in April.
