Hope Solo, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and goalie of the U.S. women’s national soccer team, will visit the Columbia Falls High School gym on Tuesday, March 26, at noon.
Solo currently plays for the Seattle Reign Football Club as part of the newly formed National Women’s Soccer League. Inaugural league action will kick off in April. Solo also will conduct a goalie clinic at Columbia Falls High School from 3 to 5 p.m. for 20 children ages 12-18.
Gina Brewer, the women’s soccer coach at Hawaii Pacific University, will speak at the event about how high school athletes can be recruited by college coaches.
The event is a fundraiser for the Flathead Rapids Soccer Club, organized by Columbia Falls High School grad O’Brien Byrd. He hopes to raise $45,000 to make the soccer club operational this spring.
Tickets for the presentation are $15 per person and $30 for families. Clinic tickets are $50 each.
All tickets are available online at www.flatheadrapids.com.
