Seddon seeks election

Ann Seddon will seek election to the Zone 4 seat on the Coeur d’Alene School District Board of Trustees.

Seddon filed a petition for candidacy on Thursday. .

She has held the Zone 4 seat since May 2012, when she was appointed to fill a vacancy on the five-member board that was created by the resignation of Diane Zipperer.

Zone 4 covers the area south of Kathleen Avenue and west to the district boundary south of the Spokane River, north of the river between Atlas Road and the west boundary of the district and south of the Industrial Park. The area south of Garden Avenue and east to 15th Street and then south to the district boundary near the southern shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene are also part of Zone 4.

The election will be held May 21. The deadline for candidates to file their paperwork is 5 p.m. March 22. There have been no other petitions for candidacy filed yet for the Zone 4 seat.

To seek election to a seat on a school board, an individual must be a registered voter and reside in the zone connected to the position.
