MOSES LAKE - Sheriff Tom Jones will be the guest speaker at the March meeting of the Grant County Republican Women this evening.
The meeting will be held at the Emperador Azteca, starting at 6 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public, including men.
On Saturday, March 16, there will be a precinct committee officer meeting at Grant County Public Works at the Ephrata Municipal Airport, 124 Enterprise St. SE, Ephrata.
"This is really important for current PCOs, but every interested party is welcome," Grant County Republican Chairwoman Kimber Lybbert said.
Next Tuesday, March 19, the Moses Lake Grant County Tea Party will have a meeting at the Moses Lake Fire Station at 701 E. Third, across from the senior center. Clint Didier will be the speaker.
"We are moving, for this event only, to the Fire House in Moses Lake because we expect a larger number of people," Lybbert said.
Didier will announce a new community safety group he is forming to support gun ownership. He will lead a discussion focusing on Farmer and Rancher issues, legislation and actions by President Obama and how they affect agriculture.
The Washington Policy Center is seeking to award a $5000 scholarship this year. If you know of any outstanding female college students who need a little tuition help, consider directing them to apply for the Jennifer Dunn Scholarship.

"If you are involved in Scouting, be sure to check your e-mail for an important message regarding policy on membership requirements regarding sexual orientation," Lybbert said. "I encourage you to fill out the survey and let your voice be heard."
