BONNERS FERRY — The name and location hasn’t changed, but the inside of Badger Shipping has changed under new ownership.

Since he purchased the business on Feb. 1, Jacob Mulford has been working on making the customer’s experience easier.

“The biggest change was getting rid of the $1 charge for UPS,” said Mulford.

In order to do that, Mulford had to become an authorized UPS shipping outlet.

Badger Shipping is also a FedEx authorized center.

Private mailboxes enable people to have UPS and FedEx packages shipped to the store, which is not possible with boxes at the post office.

Badger Shipping also offers faxing and copying services, along with assistance in packaging. They have a black and white copier and a color copier will be coming soon.

“I couldn’t do it without my employees,” said Mulford of employees Lee Nelson and Brooklyn Wilson.

Mulford is in the National Guard and is going to school at North Idaho College.

“I saw an opportunity to own my own business,” said Mulford.

“I always wanted to and it seemed like a good investment.”

• Badger Shipping is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is located at 6653 Main St.
