Cardinals take two more from Spartans

COEUR d'ALENE - Desirae Tinoco singled with two out in the sixth inning in the first game to score Shelby Carter as the North Idaho College Cardinals beat the Colorado Northwestern Spartans 4-3 and also won 5-1 in the second game to sweep a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday at Memorial Field.

Carter hit a solo home run in the fifth inning of the second game for the Cardinals (10-19, 7-15), who host Wenatchee Valley on March 25 at Memorial Field.

Shalese Connary hit a three-run homer in the first game for Colorado Northwestern (0-20, 0-20), which dropped all four games in the weekend series with NIC.
