BIRTHS

Landen Jay Jerome was born Feb. 15, 2013, to Kate Mailloux and Blake Jerome of Coeur d'Alene, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces. Grandparents are Chris and Christy Black of Coeur d'Alene, Cathi Braun of Pinehurst, Jeff Jerome of Coeur d'Alene and Steve Mailloux of B.C., Canada. Great-grandparents are Denny and Kathy Hall of Cocolalla, Colleen Braun of Kellogg, and Bonnie and Terry Jerome of Pinehurst.

Patrick Michael Luke was born at 4:15 p.m. Feb. 27, 2013, to Georgia J. and Mike D. Luke of Hauser. He weighed 10 pounds, 12 ounces and was 22 inches long. Sister is Daisy May Luke. Maternal grandparents are Violet and Joseph Wachter. Paternal grandparents Sherry Brandt and Edwin Luke.

Jonathan Lane Woodard was born March 4, 2013, to Tabitha and Brett Woodard of Oak Harbor, Wash., at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor in Oak Harbor. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Thomas and Amanda Hall of Petrolia, Pa. Paternal grandparents are Betty and Shelley Woodard of Coeur d'Alene.

Joel, Annie and James Williamson of Coeur d'Alene, welcome their twin baby girls, AshlynnMarie Stella and WeatherlyAnn Bailey Williamson. Ashlynn was born at 3:30 p.m. March 5, 2013. She weighed 5 pounds, 6 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. Weatherly was born at 3:31 p.m. March 5, 2013. She weighed 5 pounds, 1 ounce and was 18.9 inches. The girls were born at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. Proud grandparents are Ed and Kevin Kok, Paul and Lisa Ferguson, and Anne Kulinsky. Great-grandparents are Ann Lunceford, and Sam and Marilyn Osver. A special thanks to Dr. Andi Henneberg and the staff at KMC.

MILITARY

Pvt. Daniel Grant Booterbaugh, son of Dan and Kelli Booterbaugh of Hayden, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, Calif. Daniel successfully completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.

Booterbaugh and his fellow recruits began their training each day at 5 a.m., by running three miles and performing calisthenics. In addition to the physical conditioning program, he spent numerous hours in classroom and field assignments, which included learning first aid, uniform regulations, combat water survival, marksmanship, hand-to-hand combat and assorted weapons training. They performed close order drill and operated as a small infantry unit during field training. Booterbaugh qualified Expert with the Rifle.

He also received instructions on the Marine Corps' core values - honor, courage and commitment, and what the words mean in guiding personal and professional conduct. Booterbaugh and fellow recruits ended the training phase with the Crucible, a 54-hour team effort and problem solving evolution. After graduation from MCRD, he will be stationed at Camp Pendleton for nine weeks of combat training.

Daniel is a 2012 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Jordan T. Hudson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

Hudson is the son of Donald and Terri Hudson of Rathdrum.

He is a 2012 graduate of Timberlake Senior High School in Spirit Lake.

Army Pvt. Rachel M. Trout has arrived for duty as an AH64 attack helicopter repairer assigned to the 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. The 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade belongs to the 2nd Infantry Division which is the only permanently forward deployed unit in the Army.

Trout is the daughter of Lisa and Robert B. Trout of Hayden.

The private graduated in 2008 from Sandpoint High School.

Army Pvt. Chad A. McGinnis has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

McGinnis is the son of Larry and Carolyn McGinnis of Athol. He is a 2007 graduate of Timberlake High School in Spirit Lake.
