ROYAL CITY - Basin Insurance and agent Isaac Tovar have opened a new office in Royal City.
Basin Insurance is owned by Gary Trautman of Moses Lake. Tovar has been with the company three years, out of the Othello office, and sees opportunity in Royal.
"I speak English and Spanish, and I have more than 15 companies for people to compare."
Tovar believes the key to success will be service. He has found that many people over-pay because they don't shop around. Sometimes they don't even know the extent of their coverages.
"Anyone and everyone is welcome to come in for a review of coverage and a quote anytime," he said.
Basin Insurance Associates is located at 138 Camelia St., two doors down from NAPA Auto Parts.
Tovar, 34, is not new to the Royal Slope. He is a 1996 graduate of Othello High School.
Tovar studied at Big Bend and Columbia Basin Community Colleges. His father, Josh, is a teacher at Royal's Red Rock Elementary.
Tovar lives in Othello with his wife Liliana and their three children. They are expecting a fourth soon.
Tovar started his sales career with a Budweiser distributorship. He left it because he determined it was not compatible with his non-drinking lifestyle.
Tovar also worked in the patient benefits department for Columbia Basin Health Association in Othello.
"I enjoy insurance sales," he said. "I enjoy helping people with their needs. I explain to people what they're buying. All they usually know is what they're paying."
