Colette Marie Blum, 62

Colette Marie Blum, 62, passed away quietly March 15, 2013, at Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene. Colette was born Feb. 21, 1951, to Wilma and Robert Blum at Providence Hospital in Wallace.

She was raised in Osburn, the location of the family’s Greenhouse and Flower Shop where she helped with all facets of the business from arranging flowers to assisting with the bookkeeping. She attended Lourdes Academy and Wallace High School, graduating in 1969. She received a B.S. in accounting at the University of Idaho. Most recently, she was employed as a cashier at Walmart in Post Falls. Her true loves were square dancing, coins, bingo and movies. She was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Coin Club and the Shirts and Skirts Square Dance Club. Colette was very talented; her greatest traits were giving of her time and resources. Her friends, worthy causes and supported organizations can attest to her big heart and willing spirit. Her positive attitude and manner will be missed.

Colette is preceded in death by her father, Robert and mother Wilma. She is survived by her two brothers, Bob and wife Paula of Tualatin, Ore., and Steve and wife Fran of Spokane Valley. She is loved by her nieces and nephew, Kris Blum of San Francisco, Calif.; Kevin Blum of Seattle; Rebecca Clark and husband Zack of Beaverton, Ore.; and Stephanie Magill, husband Brent and children, Ella and Riley.

A gathering will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene in their downstairs hospitality room. Any memorials in her name may be donated to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.
