Gardening guru and owner of Country Fresh Farms, Bill Clanton, will discuss gardening techniques at the Bigfork/Ferndale Community Garden on Saturday, March 23.

Clanton will cover what worked and didn’t work last summer, what to expect this year and how to deal with conditions as they arise. Seed choice, planting time, frost protection, soil preparation and protection from pests ranging from deer to insects will also be covered.

The community garden has plots available for rent for those interested in growing their own produce in a social atmosphere.

As always, the workshop will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Ferndale, across from the Ferndale Fire Department on Montana 209.

Workshops are free and open to the public. Coffee, snacks, and socializing will be available.

Future workshops are planned to help and guide both experienced and novice gardeners. For more information, contact Michelle at 837-0982.
