CSI women, Salt Lake men ousted from NJCAA basketball tournament

SALINA, Kan. - Adriana Dent had 19 points and 16 rebounds for the seventh-seeded Southern Idaho Golden Eagles, who lost in their NJCAA women's basketball tournament opener to the 10th-seeded Chipola College (Fla.) Indians of Marianna 66-57 at the Bicentennial Center on Wednesday.
CSI, which defeated North Idaho College in the Region 18 tournament championship game, outrebounded Chipola 42-40, but were done in by 22 turnovers.
Patrice Toston scored 15 points for CSI.
Jasmine Crawford scored 18 points in 29 minutes for Chipola (27-6), which faces No. 2 seed Central Arizona (30-1) in the quarterfinals today. CSI lost to Central Arizona 78-65 in the Bruck Fleck Classic on Dec. 27 in Tucson, Ariz.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The sixth-seeded Central Arizona Vaqueros beat the No. 11 Salt Lake Bruins 87-82 in the second round of the NJCAA men's basketball tournament at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
Salt Lake, which defeated Snow in the Region 18 tournament championship game on March 2 in Coeur d'Alene, finishes 29-5.
Central Arizona (30-4), which beat Salt Lake in the District 1 championship game, advances to play No. 3 College of Central Florida (31-3) in the quarters.
