Fishing challenge comes to Banks Lake

ELECTRIC CITY - Area anglers will have a chance to test their skills at the first "Are You Tough Enough" fishing challenge at Banks Lake.
The Grand Coulee Dam Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the two-day Triple Fish Challenge fishing derby April 6 and 7 at the Coulee Playland Resort in Electric City.
The event is open for children and adults, with two age categories. Entry fees for children up to age 14 is $20 and 15 and older is $60.
Participants will fish for one small mouth bass, walleye and rainbow trout each day. Prizes will be given for the biggest fish of each species and total stringer weight for each day. Awards also go to the total combined heaviest six fish.
The grand prize is an Achilles four-person inflatable boat and Yamaha outboard motor.
Online registration will be available until midnight March 31 at www.grandcouleedam.org. On-site registration begins from 5 to 7 p.m. April 5 and 6 to 8 a.m. April 6 at Coulee Playland. A driver's meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. April 6, with the derby beginning at 9 a.m. both days.
