Frank Louis Parker, 94, of Rathdrum, went to his Heavenly Home on March 18, 2013, at the Hospice House in Hayden. Frank was born April 23, 1918, in Tuckasiegee, N.C., to Sarah Lucinda (Henry) Parker and Samuel Matison Parker.
Frank moved to Lyman and Sedro Wooley, Wash., then to Northern California and finally to Chehalis, Wash. He worked as a logger and a diesel mechanic. In 2007, he and his wife, Opal, moved to Rathdrum to live with his nephew, Jim Parker and wife Joan. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading his Bible, airplanes, cars and traveling. He was a lifetime member of NRA.
Frank was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Opal, and their son Louis Tyrone Parker. Frank is survived by daughter Frances Kauffman (Dave) of Arlington, Wash.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at New Beginnings Baptist Church, 16218 N. Westwood Drive, Rathdrum, with Rev. Larry Parker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835, who lovingly cared for Frank in his latter days. Bell Tower Funeral Home, Post Falls, is in care of the arrangements.
