The widow of Carl Douglas, the CEO of Stinger Welding, Inc., who died Dec. 19 when his plane crashed into Swede Mountain, has sought bankruptcy protection from creditors.
Stephanie Jordan, who filed the petition as the corporate secretary for Stinger Welding in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Arizona Court in Phoenix, seeks the protection of Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy code. The action could keep creditors at bay for 30 days.
In the petition filed March 8, Jordan seeks Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection that is intended primarily for the reorganization of businesses with heavy debt burdens, most often associated with corporations but available to small businesses as well.
Jordan seeks immediate protection from debtors, some of who own Libby businesses.
The Western News is preparing a story on this case.
