POLSON — The Polson boys and girls tennis teams got the season off to a strong start. The Pirates each earned a sweep in the first meets of the season, beating Libby and Hamilton.
The Pirate boys, led by Brady Hislop, Dylan McCrumb and Tyler Dupuis beat Libby 5-2 before earning a 7-0 sweep of Hamilton. Hislop and McCrumb each won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and Dupuis won twice at No. 3 singles. The boys won all but one doubles match.
Whitney Zimmerman swept her matches at No. 1 singles for the Polson girls, beating Hamilton’s Erica Huppert, a state doubles champion from last season, 6-4, 6-2.
“Pretty darn good tennis for early on,” Polson coach Bob Hislop said.
