MATTAWA - The Wahluke boys kicked off their prep golf season at the Othello Invitational last week, and coach Tiffany Hedman reports they produced some promising scores.

"The three returners all finished within a few strokes of their personal bestslast year, which is right where I want them at the beginning of the season." she said.

Three Warriors played 18 holes. Collin Ahmann was low man with 100. Steven Martinez shot 106, and Jaime Gutierrez had 108.

Juan Lopez and Felix Jimenez shot 58 and 78 respectively over nine holes

"This is Felix's and Collin's first competition ever, with both boys being freshmen," Hedman said. "This is Felix's third week ever golfing."

Thursday Wahluke will host its annual South Central A Conference Jambroee at Desert Aire Golf Course. It will start at 11 a.m.

The SCAC Jamboree is a fun event. Players from all schools are mixed into 4-man scramble teams.
