MOSES LAKE — As a busy mother of four, Sheryl Cassella saw firsthand how easy it was to fall into the trap of bringing home dinner from fast-food chains night after night.

Cassella's children are all involved in sports, dance and other activities, and she soon noticed a trend among families who had similar schedules.

"I watched all these parents who after games will say, let's just go grab McDonalds or grab some pizza," said Cassella. "why not go home and cook, and so I wanted to show people how cooking healthy can be easy."

The thought led to the creation of Cassella's first business — Delicious Gala. Cassella provides meal planning and prepping for busy families on the Moses Lake area, she said.

"I plan weekly meals, usually dinners but sometimes families want me to plan their breakfasts," said Cassella, who incorporates her own recipes into her meal plans.

Cassella provides clients with weekly meal plans and shopping lists, she said. She can also go grocery shopping with them and do light meal preparation as well.

"I can chop everything up and put it in containers to make it even easier for them to make meals," she said.

In many of the families Cassella helps, both parents work full time, she said.

"My business revolves around busy families, and they get home at five or six at night and don't know what to make for dinner," said Cassella. "Now everything is planned out for them."

Cassella said even with her busy schedule, she can have dinner on the table in under 30 minutes on most nights. Working from a meal plan makes cooking dinner a lot smoother, she said.

She incorporates healthy eating into her meal plans, because she saw the benefit of living a healthier lifestyle. In about 18 months, Cassella said she was able to lose about 112 pounds.

"I want to help people get out of the fast food lane, especially people who say there's no time to cook healthy meals," she said.
