OTHELLO - Four people were injured, including a 7-year-old boy, in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday on state Route 26 five miles east of Othello.

According to the State Patrol, Scott Shepherd, 34, of Pasco, was driving a silver 2006 Kia Sedona south on Booker Road about 1:30 p.m., attempting to cross state Route 26. When Shephard attempted to cross the highway, his vehicle struck a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup towing a flatbed trailer heading west on the highway. The pickup was driven by Craig Wilkie, 42, of Coeur d'Alene.

Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch, according to the State Patrol. Shepherd and three passengers in his vehicle were injured. Bruce Shepherd, 67, of Pasco, and Krista Scott, 28, of Wilder, Idaho, were transported to Othello Community Hospital.

William Scott, 7, of Wilder, Idaho, was airlifted to a Spokane hospital after being transported to Othello Community Hospital. Wilkie and his passenger, Tracena Wilkie, 41, were uninjured.

The State Patrol charged Scott Shephard with failing to yield, causing the collision.

This is the second injury collision at the Booker Road and state Route 26 intersection this week. A Post Falls, Idaho woman was injured Monday when a person driving a tractor reportedly failed to yield at the intersection.
