Glacier Symphony and Chorale is seeking new people for its 24-member board of directors.

“We are looking for community-minded folks to fill these important board positions,” said Wilson Higgs, chairman of the board’s nominating committee.

“We hear over and over that the GSC board is one of the most fun boards to be on in the valley. It is very social and has a strong team atmosphere.”

The board’s primary responsibility is governing and supporting the fiscal goals of the 31-year-old symphony organization.

Glacier Symphony and Chorale’s mission is to provide a diverse range of musical experiences that inspire, challenge and educate musicians, audiences and students.

The board is made up of members with a variety of skills ranging from the financial and corporate sectors to retired executives and community volunteers.

The term of office for a board position is three years, and many members choose to stay on the board for multiple terms.

The board meets at 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in Kalispell, with occasional extra meetings scheduled during the course of the music season.

The meetings are open to the public and anyone wishing to attend should check with the office first for a location and to ensure the meeting is happening as scheduled.

To learn more about the roles and responsibilities of being a member of the board of directors, contact Alan Satterlee at [email protected] or 257-3241.
