The top Bigfork Vikings golfers are starting to come around, according to coach Steve Hullett.

Lars Gittings and Blake Weimer each shot an 82 on Saturday at Thompson Falls to lead the Vikings to a third-place finish.

Ryder Trent was two strokes back with an 84, which was tied for eighth.

Jonathan Landon rounded out the Vikings’ team score with a 104.

In his first 18 holes of competitive golf, Nico Carie carded a 137.

Loyola’s Tom Swanson shot a 72 to win.

Nine teams competed at the event, which was won by Loyola. Thompson Falls was second. Other teams included Superior, Seeley-Swan, Deer Lodge, Ronan, St. Regis and Eureka.

The Valkyries didn’t have enough players to compete as a team as Maddie Lorang was out with a wrist injury and Dylan Carlson had to work.

Kallister Meagher and Josie Spoklie finished ninth and 10th individually with a 122 and 124. Stevi Siloti shot 138.

Loyola’s Maggie Crippen won the event with an 85.

The Bigfork High golf squads will travel to St. Regis on Thursday and Seeley Lake on Tuesday, May 7.
