Libby beats Calgary in Legion baseball opener

LIBBY — Jared Winslow, Andrew Haggerty and Oliver Grupenhoff combined on a 2-hitter and totaled 10 strikeouts as Libby topped the Calgary Red Birds 3-0 to open the Loggers’ Class A American Legion baseball season Friday night.
Winslow led the K parade with six. Haggerty fanned three batters and Grupenhoff one.
Libby leadoff hitter Will Reichel went 2-for-4. Micah Germany, Grupenhoff and Luke Haggerty had RBIs.
Libby hosts Calgary for a doubleheader today beginning at 11:05 a.m.
The Loggers follow that with the Loggertown Wood Bat Classic May 10-12.
