SCHOOLS: Election liberal v. conservative

A superintendent once said to me that it’s not good for big government to come in and take away the right of the parents and taxpayers of local school districts to make their own decisions. The words of this true conservative gave me hope that there are people who believe that local governing agencies should be run by the voice of the people.

The previous board wanted the people to believe that they weren’t educated or qualified enough to make decisions for their children and that only their governing body and individuals who met their qualifications should do so. To avoid such liberal thinking it’s vital that we’re prudent in choosing our future board members. When the people start calling for conservatism and protection of rights those who oppose feel an urgency to silence this call, many use the effective tactic of becoming a chameleon. Be wary of those who manipulate your heart strings, or appear conservative for a vote, and remember, a candidate that can’t state what they stand for, stands for nothing.

If voting conservative Republican, your person is Brent Regan, Ann Seddon, Bjorn Hendeen.

If voting liberal Democrat your person is Tom Hearn, Dave Eubanks, Christa Hazel.

To all conservatives, let us think about the positive flip of Edmond Burke’s words, if good men do something then good triumphs. After 20 years of liberal leadership it’s time to restore the voice of the people. It’s time to do something. It’s time for a change!
