ENGAGEMENT

Nelsen-Terry

Mike and Viki Terry of Coeur d'Alene are proud to announce the engagement of their son, Paul Adam Terry to Janeya Lyn Nelsen, daughter of Rick and Janet Nelsen of Spokane.

Paul and Janeya are believers and faithful followers of Jesus Christ. With this solid foundation, we believe that God will prosper them as they grow and nurture a family and seek to serve Him in all that they do. We ask for His blessing over them on their wedding day, which will take place outdoors Friday, June 28, 2013, at Q'emlin Park in Post Falls.

WEDDINGS

Baldwin-Doty

Ben and Erin (Baldwin) Doty were married July 21, 2012, at All Souls Christian Church in Moscow.

Erin graduates from the University of Idaho in May with a bachelor's degree in psychology with an emphasis on child and family development. She plans to be a psychosocial rehabilitation worker.

Ben and Erin will be relocating to Lewiston where Ben will be going to Lewis-Clark State College in the fall for nursing school. They will live in Lewiston until he graduates.

Freeman-Fink

Erik and Alicia (Freeman) Fink were married July 28, 2012, at Coeur d'Alene Assembly Church in Coeur d'Alene.

They are both attending the University of Idaho. Erik is majoring in journalism with a minor in history. Alicia is studying chemistry and secondary education and plans to teach high school chemistry. They are hoping to raise a family and work in Coeur d'Alene.

Stolley-McQueary

Brixton Brooks Stolley and Michael James McQueary exchanged wedding vows on Jan. 25, 2013, in a ceremony held at the Clubhouse at Aspen Village in Spokane Valley. A reception with close family and friends was held at the wedding site immediately following the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dale and Lesia Stolley of Spirit Lake. The groom is the son of Dena Ciminelli of Moscow.

The bride is a bookkeeper at Winco in North Spokane. The groom works at Winco in the Spokane Valley. The couple are living in Spokane Valley.

Hill-Kelso

Steve Lee Kelso and Dawn M. (Hill) Kelso, both of Athol, were united in marriage March 23, 2013, at North Country Chapel Rock Church in Post Falls. The bride was given in marriage by FC1 Matthew Chandler of the United States Navy, son-in-law of the bride. Pastor Bob Davis officiated the ceremony.

Maid of Honor was Hannah Napier, daughter of the bride. Best Man was Todd Kelso, son of the groom. Music for the ceremony was provided by Hannah Napier.

The couple will reside in Athol.

MILESTONE BIRTHDAY

Kathleen 'Katie' Johnson (Piersol)

80th birthday

Kathaleen "Katie" Johnson (Piersol) is celebrating her 80th birthday. All family and friends are invited to help celebrate with Katie from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rathdrum.

BIRTHS

Eli Andrew Johnson was born at 8:59 a.m. April 18, 2013, to Emily Sutherland and Andrew Johnson of Coeur d'Alene, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 5 pounds 6 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Lynn Jensen of Coeur d'Alene, and Scott and Laura Sutherland of Coeur d'Alene. Paternal grandparents are Virginia and Dale Mason of Spokane, and Trisha Johnson of Boston, Mass.

Denali Arielle Nass was born at 8:55 a.m. April 21, 2013, to Elissa A. and Scot D. Nass of Rathdrum. She weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.

Alyssa Rayne Lamb was born at 10:46 p.m. April 26, 2013, to Kimberly Gilbert and Brian Lamb of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and was 20 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Juli and Boyd Smith, and Pete and Cindy Gilbert. Paternal grandparents are Peggy and Ron Maylott, and George and Kathy Lamb.

EDUCATION

Lifelong Coeur d'Alene area resident Marjorie Sellers Olin was inducted into the Idaho Teacher's Hall of Fame during the Retired Educators of Idaho convention in Boise on April 19.

Marjorie attended school in Coeur d'Alene including at Winton Elementary School. After high school graduation she attended Lewiston Normal and began her teaching career in Spirit Lake.

In 1942 she enlisted in the WAVES and served until the end of World War II.

After her marriage and the birth of her two sons, Marjorie returned to teaching, generally first-graders in the Coeur d'Alene system. She taught at Sherman, Roosevelt and Winton Schools.

She officially retired in 1982 but for the next approximately 15 years she was a nearly full-time substitute teacher in the district.

John Hough was a student in Mrs. Olin's first-grade class one year at the Roosevelt School and when he and his wife Tina turned the building into a bed and breakfast, he named one of the guest rooms in Marjorie's honor.

Marjorie was nominated to the Hall of Fame by her fellow members of the North Idaho Retired Educators Association. She is also a longtime member of Alpha chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa.

The Coeur d'Alene area branch of the American Association of University Women will be celebrating the branches 75th anniversary with a tea at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Roosevelt Inn Bed and Breakfast. All members past and present, scholarship recipients and friends are invited to attend. Cost is $15 per person.

Those wishing to attend should call Tina Gospodnetich at (208) 659-7650 on or before May 13, 2013.

Over the years the group has worked to establish talking trails, the lighted school crosswalk at LaCross and Lincoln Way, kindergarten in the Coeur d'Alene school system, Idaho State Child Care Laws and most importantly annual fundraisers for women's scholarships at North Idaho College.

MILITARY

Air Force Airman Anthony W. Donelan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Donelan is the son of Roxanne Johnson and Thomas Donelan, both of Post Falls.

He is a 2010 graduate of Post Falls High School.
