If all goes right, this is opening week for Bullman's Wood-Fired Pizza in Riverstone. The eatery is in a new 3,500- square-foot space at 2385 Old Mill Loop almost across from Regal Cinemas.

With a Northwest decor of wood and rock, the restaurant features Northwest tastes of pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. Other menu options include appetizers, salads, sandwiches, kids' pizzas and beverages including beer and wine.

With 22 employees, the restaurant seats customers at tables and in booths indoors and seasonally outdoors. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sundays.

The seven-year-old company began in Helena and also has restaurants in Kalispell and Billings. Check www.bullmanspizza.com.

Teaching Supply store on Best

Kootenai Kids Teaching Supply has moved to the adjoining Midway Appliance Parts store at 520 E. Best Ave.

The 10-year-old business offers teaching supplies and resources for teachers, home-schoolers and parents wanting their children to succeed in school, according to owner Victoria Lavrador. She started the store when she tried to buy her son a book, but that store had closed.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Phone 762-7575. Check www.kootenaikids.com.

New architect firm downtown

The PDF firm started in Laguna Beach, Calif., in 1987 and combines 60 years of experience in commercial and residential architecture and interior design. The firm has grown into 30 states with offices in Laguna Beach serving the Southwest, Baltimore serving the Northeast and Coeur d'Alene serving the Northwest. Regional projects include Paul Mitchell Cosmetology Schools in Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Boise and Rexburg.

Now for this week's Tidbits

- Watch for news on major renovations in the Student Union Building at North Idaho College.

- We hear rumors of a new pizza and ice cream shop in downtown Cd'A, but no one has confirmed that.

- Style note: When a sentence uses "which," a comma usually proceeds it. When it uses "that," no comma is needed.

- How cool are the thousands of tulips that almost comprise a lawn at Kootenai Health.

- Another style note: A whole comprises its parts. That's shorter than "is composed of..."

- It's really helpful when cyclists (pedaling or motor) wear bright clothing.

- Men can read smaller print than women, but women hear better.
