SANDPOINT — A probation compliance review hearing is set for a Hope woman who pleaded guilty to diverting disability benefits for personal use while employed at Goodwill Industries in 2007.

Rose Ann Bond’s hearing is set for Monday in 1st District Court.

Bond, 57, pleaded guilty to grand theft and was given a suspended five-year term and ordered to serve three weeks in jail in 2009.

Bond was granted a withheld judgment, which blots the conviction from her record upon completion of her court-ordered obligations.

Bond was placed on probation for five years and ordered to pay $7,660 in court costs and restitution. She was also ordered to complete 300 hours of community service.

An Idaho Department of Correction official filed notice with the court last year that her restitution remained unpaid. She was also in arrears with her $20 monthly fee for probation costs, court records show.

Bond was questioned about her compliance and told the court that she had health issues and had trouble lining up sedentary community service work, according to court records.

Bond was accused of misappropriating disability benefits for Goodwill clients while employed as a bookkeeper.

During sentencing, it was divulged that Bond used the money to help a relative who was struggling with drug addiction and faced losing custody of her child.
